Position Summary
Obtains meter reads, disconnects and secures electric service. Recognizes non-standard installations (Tampered, non-code meter loops, hazards, unsecured meter sockets, double lugging).
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Obtains meter reads using Itron Handheld / mobile collector or other means of obtaining reads
- Uses GIS and other mapping systems to efficiently route daily work
- Uses Mobile Data System (MDS)
- Disconnect electric and gas service for non-payment
- Physically Install, reconnect or replace AMI Electric accounts
- Maintain materials, tools, and supplies for field use and maintain a record of tools issued
- Interfaces with customers in connection with inquires and complaints
- Completes work orders in a Work Order Management System(WOMS) or similar
- Works in an energized environment while utilizing all assigned CPS Energy Safety Equipment
- Uses radio, cellphone, and electronic methods of communication.
- Uses UtilityIQ database to access meter history
- Uses SAP to access customer account and meter information
- Exposure to hazardous environments to include: rough terrain, dangerous animals, obstacles and irate customers.
- Performs other duties and serves on special project teams as assigned

- Previous experience in Revenue Protection work
- Previous experience in Energy Technician work
- Previous experience in customer contact role
