Position Summary

The Stakeholder Engagement Specialist 3 works with internal and external subject matter experts to develop and implement engagement communications in support of company initiatives and is part of the Corporate Communications and Marketing team. The candidate will work cross functionally to create and execute successful engagement communications plans and work to keep both internal and external stakeholders informed. Interested candidates should be passionate about learning the energy industry and the Company’s mission of providing world-class energy solutions to meet the diverse and unique needs of our customers and employees. This position reports to the Manager of Public Relations and Stakeholders. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supports efforts to strengthen target communications with HOAs, neighborhood associations, City of San Antonio district council staff, special interest community groups, educational partners, and many others.
  • Plans and executes public tele-town halls, townhalls and events to increase awareness of initiatives.
  • Develop, promote and share media communication toolkits, collect event data, survey analysis, and reporting for Executive and Board of Trustee summary.
  • Represents stakeholder engagement at internal/external meetings to collaborate and strategize on various projects and initiatives. 
  • Attend Company events or engagement opportunities, as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Create and execute communication and engagement plans for company-wide initiatives, keeping community members at the center of every decision.
  • Assist in developing initiative-related deliverables such as talking points, FAQs, surveys, flyers, etc., for external and internal stakeholders at varying levels within the organization.
  • Organize and host community events for initiatives to build trust and increase transparency and gather feedback from our community. 
  • Lead and cover meetings on behalf of PR & Stakeholder Engagement Manager and bring action items and deliverable back to the group.
  • Create clear, compelling communications deliverables that translate technical details into messages that internal and external stakeholders can understand.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding community events and meetings, maintaining a positive, service-oriented approach.
  • Track engagement activities for accountability, reporting, and presentations.

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Self-directed with proven problem-solving skills.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement communication strategies and tactics.
Extensive experience in leading projects from start to finish.
Experience using Microsoft Teams for collaboration.
Initiative to work independently or as a member of a team, coordinating with others to achieve desired results.
Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills; ability to assess complex situations, make decisions and manage projects from start to a positive outcome.
Ability to work safely in a variety of locations such as the field, construction centers and the main office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in community outreach and developing communications for a variety of channels and audiences in a corporate environment, large public entity, utility or a communications agency.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field from an accredited college or university OR extensive exp in related field.

Required Certifications

Working Environment

Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events.

Physical Demands

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
