Position Summary
Leads the Substation & Transmission (S&T) Contractor Safety Management Program which provides oversight and management of substation and transmission construction contractors year-round. In addition, this position coordinates the Routing & Siting activities and public events.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manages the S&T Contractor Safety & Performance Program
- Monitors, evaluates and documents contractors’ safety and performance
- Performs monthly on-site safety audits and promotes safety of contractor personnel
- Conducts semi-annual Contractor Safety Roundtable Meetings
- Leads and tracks Contractor Passport Program for substation and transmission contractors
- Confirms awarded Contractor has completed Passport Program prior to the start of the project
- Conducts one-on-one safety meetings with active contractors
- Completes Operational and Safety Event Notification reports and submissions by specified time
- Coordinates after-event action items as deemed necessary
- Determines and schedules inspector resource requirements
- Works with Engineers to provide OSHA transfer form to contractors
- Prepares, coordinates and schedules Open House and Board Public Input Session events for Routing & Siting projects
- Composes and coordinates customer-facing literature and information for Routing & Siting projects
- Prepares and/or coordinates mailing of notification packets to customers and landowners regarding Routing & Siting projects
- Composes and coordinates media notifications for Routing & Siting projects
- Assists EDS and S&T Regulatory Support Project Managers during Routing & Siting projects
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Must be able to work extended hours; including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate team building with employees across various disciplines and at all levels, including the ability to engage people in productive activities without formal authority.
- Manages all phases of a program management following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and methodology with a considerable amount of autonomy.
- Previous working experience with responsibility to corporate initiatives, employee programs, corporate affairs, project management, or a related role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to help individuals and teams achieve increased competencies and effectiveness at high levels.
- High responsiveness to urgent situations.
