Position Summary
This position provides oversight to a team responsible for commodities procurement, contract and inventory management, and related analytics. Provides leadership and management in sourcing, market research, market establishment, report generation and supporting analytics that ensure the reliable supply of goods that support CPS Energy’s production and distribution of energy to our customers with the highest safety, highest quality, shortest lead time, and best value.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of stock material commodity procurement, including timely and quality execution of purchase orders with adherence to the Procurement Policy and associated procedures, federal acquisition regulations, and other related state and local laws.
- Oversee the ordering, tracking, and analysis of stock material across all CPS Energy warehouses.
- Review and approve stock material purchasing documents and contracts to mitigate risk, ensure quality, and validate consistent application of CPS Energy Procurement Policy, Procedures, Guidelines, and Texas laws, codes, and regulations.
- Identify, develop, and implement improvements in processes and procedures that ensure prudent inventory management and contractual documents that are aligned with business controls, policies, and procedures.
- Works closely with Business Units, staff, and suppliers to determine demand levels and ensure material is available to mitigate inventory issues.
- Collaborate with Business Units, external counterparties and vendors on special project material needs.

- Oversee the effective negotiation of the procurement of commodities and related contract documents. Manage and develop supplier relationships, manage supplier performance, and address supplier performance issues..
- Oversee the development of standardized and automated reporting for the Supply Chain team and internal customers.
- Direct and oversees analytical assignments to ensure accuracy and support for improved processes, cost efficiencies, and/or business decisions.
- Generate, test, and validate report data and performance.
- Oversee and review research and documentation of ERP standard reports.
- Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement activities to improve team performance in areas of purchase order lead time, contract document quality, and report development.
- Train and implement new policy and procedures for all employees to ensure protocols are understood and complied with in accordance with the Records Management Plan and state laws and regulations.
- Develop a team to maximize their potential and grow their skills and career opportunities. Set goals for work teams and individuals and provide goal monitoring and achievement leadership.
- Develop and manage the Operations & Maintenance budget for their department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Masters’ degree.
- Extensive experience with financial and operational analytical support.
- Strategic sourcing mindset with the ability to develop sustainable end to end value solutions.
- Strong project management and process improvement skills
- Proficient in SAP.
