Position Summary
The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry’s rapidly changing workforce needs by providing local San Antonio high school students with public utility career experience. Through the internship program students are paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experience that expands their understanding of how the industry works and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to be successful. The internship is not only meant for the intern to learn how to perform, but to also understand the rationale behind the strategies that are being used.
The multimedia technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting issues of audio-visual equipment, wireless phones, and printers within the CPS Energy environment. As an intern you will deploy new a/v equipment and wireless devices. Assist in the execution of live stream events and troubleshoot technology problems.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Prepares audio visual equipment for use by CPS Energy employees.
- Setup and deploy mobile devices.
- Perform site visits and assist employees with technology needs.
- Unbox, setup and deploy mobile devices such as MiFi’s and Cellular Phones.
- Document work and update process documents.
- Involved with storeroom inventory reporting and analysis.
- Performs basic database updates to ensure records are properly maintained.
- Shadows technicians to learn new skills related to audio visual support.
- Assists on special projects and teams as requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
