Position Summary
The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry’s rapidly changing workforce needs by providing San Antonio college students with public utility career experience. Through the internship program students are paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experiences that expands their understanding of the industry and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to succeed. The internship is designed for the intern to learn to perform in a work environment and understand the rationale behind the strategies used. Applicants must reside in the San Antonio Metropolitan area and are currently enrolled in school or recently graduated to qualify.
The CPS Energy's Learning and Development Intern will assist in developing and supporting the learning programs for our company's future generation of leaders. The intern will assist project teams, business customers, and management, focusing on building effective training and development learning materials. They will learn how to design and develop training materials while learning the strategies and methods to deliver practical training. This includes scope requirements, budget, scheduling, risk analysis, and program evaluation.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with members of the Leadership Development team to review curriculum development and completion.
- Help identify, assess and develop employee knowledge, skills and abilities to help meet current and future staffing needs.
- Partner with People and Culture business unit to review competencies and cultural initiatives.
- Learn how to facilitate team building activities across various disciplines and at all levels of the organization.
- Provide project feedback.
- Evaluate budget scope and quality through metrics and benchmarking.
- Learn how to create learning activities and compelling content, working alongside subject matter experts.
- Learn hot to set instructional goals and create content that matches the:
- Work on creating exercise and activities to enhance the learning process, along with creating supporting materials (audio / video)
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively facilitate and / or design both in person and virtual training workshops.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Seeking master’s degree
- Experienced in team facilitation, including problem solving or process improvement.
- Experience in Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Seeking Project Management Professional (PMP) Cert
