Position Summary

The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry’s rapidly changing workforce needs by providing College students in San Antonio with an opportunity to be paired with a mentor, acquiring meaningful hands-on experiences that expand their understanding of the industry and  expose them to essential skills they must acquire or develop for career success. The internship is designed to enable the intern to learn how to  perform in a work environment and acquire businessstrategy. Applicants must reside in the San Antonio Metropolitan area and be currently enrolled  in school or have recently graduated to qualify. 

The ERP Transformation Team is seeking a Business Planning Intern to support the Enterprise Resource Planning program through foundational training, qualitative analysis, and stakeholder engagement. The intern will gain hands-on experience by completing introductory Power BI training, conducting cross-functional interviews, and contributing to planning and reporting activities across multiple workstreams. This role is designed to strengthen communication, analytical, and presentation skills while supporting key program objectives.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Tasks will include, but not limited to:
• Complete introductory Power BI training and apply basic data visualization skills to support program reporting.
• Conduct structured stakeholder interviews across multiple departments to gather insights on current processes, challenges, and 
improvement opportunities.
• Analyze and summarize interview findings to identify key themes and support planning discussions.
• Create clear written summaries and presentation-ready materials to support communication and alignment across teams.
• Maintain organized documentation, including interview notes, logs, and reference materials.
• Support program coordination through meeting notes, tracking follow-up actions, and assisting with cross-functional 
communication.
• Help format qualitative and quantitative information into simple, easy-to-read dashboards, summaries, or reports.
• Deliver a final project that synthesizes stakeholder insights and includes a career-reflection component connecting the experience to 
your professional development goals.
• Be available to work on-site Monday through Friday at the assigned location as school schedule allows. (Schedule to be coordinated 
and finalized with Lead).

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be currently enrolled in a related discipline.
A minimum GPA of 2.5.
Must currently reside within 120 miles of CPS Energy Headquarters.
Demonstrated leadership potential.
Self-motivated and results oriented.

Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate an interest in a career applicable to the utility industry.
