Position Summary

As the ERP Program Administration Manager, you will oversee and execute financial administration, vendor management, and operational governance within the ERP Transformation Program at CPS Energy. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will lead critical program functions while actively managing daily financial operations, compliance tracking, and process optimization.
This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to tracking contracted program deliverables and commitments, risk mitigation, and financial oversight. You will engage directly with senior stakeholders, project teams, and cross-functional departments to enhance program execution, ensure financial integrity, and implement process improvements that drive efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have experience in financial administration, program operations, and/or contract/vendor management within a fast-paced, complex environment. Success in this role will require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize financial data for executive reporting and decision-making. Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial tools to support program administration is highly beneficial.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Value Creation:
  • Lead and execute financial administration efforts, tracking contract compliance including compliance with subcontractor commitments, managing key milestones, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze vendor performance data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process optimizations that enhance program value.
  • Drive and implement automation initiatives within finance operations by evaluating and deploying tools that improve efficiency.
  • Conduct hands-on financial assessments to support cost optimization, risk management, and operational enhancements.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute financial dashboards, providing actionable insights to leadership on program performance and financial health.
  • Proactively document and manage financial dependencies and critical milestones to support executive decision-making and program governance.
Business Operations:
  • Manage and coordinate financial operations across program teams, vendors, and finance stakeholders, ensuring streamlined communication and operational alignment.
  • Track contracted deliverables through the review and approval process and ensure deliverables are approved in accordance with contract terms and prior to approval of invoicing.  Proactively monitor progress of deliverables reviews and develop/execute management-level progress dashboards.
  • Refine and enforce program policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring consistency and efficiency in financial and administrative processes.
  • Ensure vendors payments are in accordance with contract terms, oversee and process vendor payments, working closely with project management, supply chain, and accounts payable teams to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Monitor vendor contract performance and directly escalate risks while recommending mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to ensure program spending aligns with budgetary goals and business objectives.
People Development:
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, providing expertise in financial and contract administration best practices.
  • Lead and facilitate training initiatives to enhance financial and administrative process understanding across program teams.
  • Document and refine program workflows, ensuring scalability and knowledge transfer across stakeholders.
  • Act as a hands-on subject matter expert, providing both strategic and operational input on financial process improvements and program efficiencies.

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Experience in financial administration, contract/vendor management, or program operations within a complex organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail.
Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution of financial and operational tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting principles.
  • Experience with process automation and financial reporting tools.
  • Background in the energy or utilities sector.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Required Certifications

Working Environment

Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events.

Physical Demands

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
