Position Summary
The Construction Coordinator leads cross functional teams to ensure projects are delivered within scope ,and schedule Assists with distribution and substation project, process improvements, and budget tracking for the successful execution
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Coordinate construction activities for Distribution Construction & Maintenance Services.
• Serve as the CPS Energy liaison for various internal user areas, construction contractors, developers, governmental agencies and engineering firms.
• Participate in or lead pre-planning construction meetings and field-meetings that are necessary to coordinate activities appropriately.
• Work closely with Resource Management Inspectors to monitor quality and productivity.
• Performs various analytical tasks such as project budget, and schedule projections.
• Coordinate planned outages with customers to ensure on-time completion of work.
• Maintain monthly progress reports of completed and pending work.
• Track and maintain all records pertaining to assigned projects
• Monitors and provides regular status updates on job progress.
• Assists with other coordinator’s duties in their absence.
• Identifies and encourages safe working practices.
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Actual field experience installing distribution infrastructure
- Above average PC skills utilizing outlook, shared printers/plotters access, excel, SAP and WMIS
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead Teams as well as function as a team player
- Ability to properly develop project schedules and enforce procedures to achieve stated project time and cost objectives
- Ability to analyze and make recommendations regarding schedule overruns, change orders and coordination of multiple large-scale projects
- Demonstrated working knowledge of procurement and accounting practices
