Position Summary

Responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining software and programs for managing Information Technology assets.  Identify and manage processes for tracking, updating, quality assurance, and reporting from IT asset records and databases. Responsible for configuring and supporting Microsoft-based infrastructure, enterprise application installation, configuration, design, and troubleshooting. Consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff in the resolution of problems, coordinate and operate maintenance activities for workstations, identify recurring issues, and recommend steps to reduce the severity or frequency of problems. Demonstrates technical expertise through maintaining primary technical programming skills for the assigned job, developing new skills as required, developing guidelines and standards, and establishing best practices. Manage and maintain area systems that include inventory, licensing, patching, deployment, and reporting. Creates plans for the transition of development and production environments to new technologies, utilizes system software to monitor the performance of system files, manages system data to maintain performance efficiencies, and studies system requirements to determine proper installation methods and procedures.  Provide data analysis and reporting on various processes, including update compliance, computer hardware, mobile hardware, software utilization, and other areas as required. Responsible for managing software availability to support groups and customers.  Oversees work efforts of junior administrators and mentor’s new administrators.
 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Core responsibilities focus on strategic as well as operational/tactical aspects of the organization.
  • Responsible for Tier 3 technical system support, assisting Tier 2 technicians in problem-solving.
  • Coordinate with customers to define and satisfy application package requirements.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of project and enhancement initiatives.
  • Create, configure, test, deploy, and monitor software releases, operating systems, security patches, compliance settings, etc.
  • Implement, configure, support, and maintain MEMCM (SCCM), Intune, SharePoint, Citrix VDI, and M365.
  • Administer, configure, test, deploy and monitor mobile data management (MDM) tool.
  • Administer, configure, test, deploy and monitor software asset management (SAM) tool.
  • Ensure adherence to established and documented processes, procedures, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Daily monitoring and reconciliation of incident and service request tickets assigned to queue.
  • Document procedures for installing packaged applications.
  • Plans and assigns lower-level analysts to given projects or tasks.
  • Interprets and applies organizational policy and recommends changes in procedures.
  • Schedules deployments in accordance with project schedules, work effort timetables, and Change Acceptance Board (CAB) approval.
  • Monitor and report results of deployments.
  • Document all work performed in ticketing tool, logging time and effort.
  • Develops alternative solutions for decision-making which support organizational goals/objectives and budget constraints.
  • Operates with substantial latitude for independent action in setting objectives and deciding how to proceed.
  • Prepares Change records for CAB review and approval.
  • Provide knowledge transfer, coaching, and mentoring to technical staff.
  • This is the highest-level subject matter/technical expert and may include limited supervisory responsibilities.
  • Performs other project and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications.
  • Experience with SAP and/or Oracle
  • Extensive experience with MEMCM (SCCM), OSD, MDT, Intune, SNOW, MBAM, LAPS, WSUS, Citrix VDI, and M365 administration.
  • Experience with SQL, SSRS, Power BI, M365 Suite, AD, Group Policy, Certificate Services, IIS, and Scripting.
  • Relative experience in supporting utility construction software.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Business, Management, Financial, or other quantitative field and extensive related experience.

Required Certifications

Working Environment

General office and sedentary. Ability to travel to and from client meetings, training sessions, and other business-related events. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
After hours work may be required. Overnight travel may be required.

Physical Demands

Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Must be able to exert or lift up to 20 pounds.
