Position Summary

Responsible for Operations Collaboration Support – Cisco IP-based PBX device configuration management, CUCM system administration, Cisco UCS hardware support, software support, maintenance, security, troubleshooting. Responsible for solution design, development, integration and enhancements to meet the business needs and project requirements. Also, responsible for documenting and developing operational procedures and provides end user support.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Monitor IP based voice performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Configure and install various telephony devices and services (e.g., phones, switches, gateways, video endpoints)
  • Perform telephony maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Provide Level-2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the voice infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
     

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Demonstrated Associate level experience with IP Telephony
Experience with Cisco CUCM, Unity Connection, Cisco IM & Presence, Cisco UCCX
Experience with networking protocols (e.g., IP, UDP, RTP, SIP, 802.11, QoS)
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate level telephony certification (CCNA-Voice, CCNA-Collaboration)
  • Relative experience in supporting utility construction & maintenance

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Computer Systems, Management Information Systems or related field from an accredited university. OR Relative experience in system management for IP Telephony.

Required Certifications

Working Environment

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events. After hours work may be required.
Works various fluctuating schedules to include rotating shift work, call duty, extended hours and weekends.

Physical Demands

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
