Position Summary
The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry’s rapidly changing workforce needs by providing San Antonio college students an opportunity to be paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experiences that expands their understanding of the industry and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to succeed. The internship is designed for the intern to learn to perform in a work environment and understand the rationale behind the strategies used. Applicants must reside in the San Antonio Metropolitan area and are currently enrolled in school or recently graduated to qualify.
This role will work collaboratively with the Office of the President to help development, integrate and implement of a broad range of activities that will facilitate effective planning and oversight of projects for successful deployment of critical and cross-functional initiatives like thought leadership initiatives and project management support. In addition, this role will need to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills. The person in this role must be creative, and results driven, with the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Proactive research and outreach for new stakeholder and community partners for speaking engagement opportunities.
- Provide ad hoc support to complete initiatives.
- Ensure timely delivery on obligations to include preparation of all material requests.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of leadership and stakeholders.
- Event planning to include event program design, speaker confirmations, logistics (facilities, catering, security, etc.), when needed.
- Research and monitor industry trends and best practices for executive brand and thought leadership.
- Represent the Office of the President at internal and external meetings, as necessary.
- Communicates relevant project information and status to the Office of the President and key stakeholders.
- Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
- Communicates effectively both internally and externally, demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust, confidentiality, and support.
- Respond to time-sensitive requests for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Must be able to report to work on a regular basis.
