Position Summary
The Director, ePMO is responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of the CPS Energy enterprise portfolio of strategic and tactical programs and initiatives. The Director, ePMO also has responsibility for the overall leadership, coordination and management for implementation and sustainment of the ePMO office processes and functions. This position will also be responsible for defining and improving processes and maintaining standards for project management. A key responsibility will be to build a highly skilled ePMO staff of program and project managers, project coordinators and scrum masters. Additionally, this position will be responsible for developing the methodologies, tools, and metrics necessary to drive portfolio and project delivery excellence.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead & partner across all levels & business areas of the organization to drive ePMO portfolio health, execution, delivery & analysis
- Define & execute the ePMO management process, deliverables & operational cadence in strict accordance with ePMO management standards & best practices
- Act as an escalation point for program/project managers w/in the ePMO portfolio; including impact assessment of project resources, schedule & cost issues/changes.
- Facilitate the joint business & ePMO portfolio processes required to approve & prioritize portfolio & project demand
- Manage & balance ePMO assigned members’ workload & assignments; ensure team members understand & accept their roles, responsibilities & accountabilities; ensure consistency of project execution to standards & achievement of project objectives
- Ensure the continuing education of organizational development of all organizational PM’s including appropriate level training & certifications
- Track progress on all ongoing projects (issues, risks, schedule, changes, costs, & scope); provide up-dates to supervisors, executives & stakeholders as required.
- Support but also hold each Senior Technology & Business Excellence leader accountable for their commitments in the delivery of the committed portfolio components of business- & EIT-sponsored projects
- Model the behaviors necessary to define, deploy & deliver ePMO portfolio results
- Lead the organization in the adoption of a maturing ePMO process
- Accountable for the ePMO portfolio process definition, adoption, execution, & visibility. Accountable for driving a portfolio sequencing process & establishing effective resource demand & capacity management
- Evaluate organizational capability & capacity to assist in the development, validation, & assessment of project objectives
- Accountable for monitoring & reporting on the projects in all stages across the ePMO portfolio & providing guidance where needed for portfolio value delivery
- Provide overall ePMO portfolio governance & oversight
- Develop & facilitate Key Performance Indicators (KPI)/metrics, standards, reporting mechanisms and decision-making forums
- Coach/mentor business area resources to deliver input to the ePMO portfolio to achieve & improve results
- Actively seek ways to apply advanced techniques & technology to processes for continuous improvement
- Provide consulting support & advises leadership on overall planning, prioritization, execution and delivery of the ePMO portfolio using the available process resources
- Advise business stakeholders on the risks and benefits of specific ePMO portfolio activities
- Seek partner input for continuous improvement of the ePMO portfolio management process
- Serve as a member of the Technology & Business Excellence Senior Leadership Team
- Coordinate & facilitate the annual and multi-year planning process for ePMO portfolio components
- Provide ePMO portfolio information & consulting to other Technology & Business Excellence Senior Leadership Team members
- Support each Senior Technology & Business Excellence leader to ensure high standards of delivery of their commitments to the ePMO portfolio of work
Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in an appropriate discipline, such as business administration, finance, accounting, construction management, etc.
- Professional Certification, such as Project Management Institute (PMI), Business Relationship Management Institute (BRMi).
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, business planning, negotiation, problem-solving skills.
- Experience in technology, energy, or utility industry.
- Demonstrated financial acumen to plan, forecast, and manage multimillion dollar budgets.
- Consulting and multidisciplinary experience.
