Position Summary

CPS Energy is seeking a security professional to identify threats and monitor daily security operations!

Asset Protection Specialist will assess internal/external threats to personnel and physical assets and support the development of policies, plans, procedures, and physical safeguards to counter these physical security threats. Position will participate significantly in the department’s responsibility to provide security for CPS Energy employees, visitors, contractors, facilities and equipment, which will in part be accomplished via on-site risk assessments, coordination of incident responses and monitoring by visual and electronic security measures.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Perform/Execute the day-to-day operation of the SOC and Contract/Proprietary Security Officer physical security program.
  • In an effort to identify potential threats/vulnerabilities, routinely perform site security surveys/assessments across the CPS Energy footprint. 
  • Execute security program deployment and operation in collaboration with security management and users/stakeholders.
  • Participate in risk assessment/prevention initiatives where physical security personnel and systems are identified options for mitigation.
  • Provide input into the coordination, and setting of standards/guidelines relative to physical security
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to existing security systems data management and operational functions and features.
  • Support executive transportation services for corporate executives and VIP guests as assigned to include preparing maps, maintaining vehicle for service, pre-driving assigned destinations, monitoring flight times, travelling to predetermined locations at designated times both within and outside the service area.
  • Prepare regular administrative reports.
  • Performs other project and process improvement initiatives as assigned

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling

Demonstrated well-developed written and verbal communications skills for interaction within the section, across departmental lines to all levels of personnel, and vertically with management.

Ability to meet goals and objectives with minimal direct supervision

Demonstrated positive interpersonal behaviors toward CPS Energy, associates, and customers consistent with company core values.

Ability to effectively manage sensitive and confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

Work is performed indoors & outdoors. Manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Use of computing equipment, telephone, & printer/copier. Ability to travel to and from business related events. After hours work may be required
