Position Summary
The Mgr Energy Supply Business will provide leadership and oversight for all areas of plant and Energy Supply Market Operations (ESMO) administration and perform other assigned tasks as required to support ongoing plant and ESMO operations. This includes providing analysis, planning, scheduling, and coordination of administrative duties to ensure the timely completion of payroll, general accounting, budgets, purchasing, receiving, and inventory management. Lead a Power Generation (PG) support organization for NERC/Regulatory reporting, analytical and statistical analysis, vehicle/fleet management, PG information technology reporting platform and execution, and employee development programs.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely invoices, inventory summaries, cash requirements, budget variance reports and other requirements as needed.
- Financial budgeting (headcount & labor, O&M expense, capital, fuels and fleet vehicle/equipment) and Latest Estimate (LE) activities supporting the VP Power Generation, ESMO, executives and support personnel in organization, including the accurate entry of dollars by cost center / element / project into the financial planning systems.
- Manages plant administration and database reporting activities carried out by all direct reports. Can include Data Control Clerks, Program Systems/Analyst and Program/Project Managers
- Leads the plant and ESMO budget development process, recordkeeping, compliance and variance reporting.
- Works closely with supply chain and plant/ESMO team to effectively control material procurement and inventory management processes and reporting.
- Develops and executes plans to accomplish development, regular updating, and monitoring of the department budgets and cost forecasts.
- Supports and emphasizes importance of safety and environmental programs and ensures regulatory compliance through observation tracking.
- Leads the records retention process for departments to ensure ongoing inventory, disposal, and storage of records while adhering to corporate and legal guidelines.
- Ensures all company resources are utilized in a cost-effective manner, estimates resource requirements, monitors expenditures, and reports on performance of assigned area.
- Ensures documents are reviewed and approved/sealed in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Assist with clearing the completed and inactive projects in the Asset Under Construction (AUC) file.
- Actively participate in and/or lead the hiring process for business manager direct reports within the department.
- Implements and maintains development plans (to include mentoring, coaching, SWOT and developmental assignments) for direct and indirect reports.
- Seeks continuous improvement in the financial planning process.
- Direct communication with teams to reinforce policy and business unit priorities, improve employee engagement and respond to issues affecting the work force, including effective union relationship.
- Business plan metric development, monitoring and reporting to Corporate Business Planning and leaders across the organization.
- Establish and document reporting and data validation procedures (SOP) for power plant events and generation recording in Generation Availability Data System (GADS) and Margin Analyzer Systems.
- Establish process for modeling and reporting unit asset valuation.
- Work with Supply Side Analytics for ad hoc analysis, resource plan development, and generation forecast.
- Manage software contracts.
- Oversee the reporting of EIA-923 and EIA-860 forms monthly and annual.
- Maintain adherence to new and updated NERC-GADS and EIA regulatory reporting requirements for all power plants in the CPS Energy fleet. Oversee NERC GADS reporting and compliance with Data Reporting Instructions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
