Position Summary
The Marketing Manager leads a diverse group of employees that drives and executes brand standards, program awareness, customer acquisition and retention strategies for all CPS Energy products and services. This includes direct marketing to consumers and businesses through digital marketing channels. The Marketing Manager defines the messaging and resource requirements for external and internal programs and manages their team of employees to accomplish the assignment, prioritization, creation, quality and approvals for all deliverables requested from marketing. The Marketing Manager provides input into the development and implements marketing strategies and execution plans across residential, small business, large commercial and industrial customers and will be expected to develop a comprehensive knowledge of customer market segments, products, programs, services, and tools designed for each market. This position will participate in developing the strategies to enhance and strengthen the CPS Energy brand in the greater San Antonio area and nationally. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for coordination with internal operations, product, market analytics and other internal partners as well as external stakeholders, consultants and community organizations to meet all goals related to marketing initiatives and projects.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide management direction and oversight to employee teams while balancing work requirements, streamlining processes and adopting best practices to achieve greater efficiency and meet departmental goals.
- Give input into the strategic marketing plan, marketing strategies, tactics and execution for positioning, packaging, promoting and communicating the value of CPS Energy’s services, offers and ideas.
- Interpret and apply research insights, analytics and market trends to develop and guide strategies, tactics and segmentation.
- Maximize website, newsroom, social media, and intranet channels, messaging and design while monitoring analytics to gauge marketing effectiveness and identify market changes and opportunities to deliver incremental value to customers.
- Oversee management of assets, design and content on the CPS Energy website, newsroom, social media channels, graphic design projects, photography/videography assets, marketing projects and specific internal business unit initiatives.
- Develop and implement digital marketing strategies, including SEO/SEM, email marketing, content marketing, social media, and display advertising.
- Leverage technical expertise in digital marketing tools to development and implement effective digital marketing strategies, optimize website performance, and analyze marketing campaign results.
- Develop and execute strategies for tools, materials, presentations and other deliverables to support customer service and account management’s objectives.
- Manage branding and positioning in support of CPS Energy’s mission, core values and the company’s safety culture.
- Participate in evolution of the digital strategy that will enhance customers’ experiences, deliver value to stakeholders and enhance the brand.
- Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies.
- Coordinate with partners, device manufacturers, service providers and others to create and execute joint marketing plans to achieve CPS Energy’s product development and operations teams’ goals.
- Manage projects and participate as a member of project teams to set priorities, manage resources, set timelines, assign ownership, report progress and meet deadlines to deliver desired results.
- Manage external relationships with suppliers, including agencies, to achieve maximum benefit while adhering to procurement policies.
- Develop annual performance goals, evaluate ongoing performance and provide ongoing developmental feedback.
- Conduct team meetings and 1:1 reviews to set, direct, guide and update project plans.
- Communicate verbally, via email and through presentations or documents as needed to establish and inform stakeholders.
- Apply components, editing, updating, and UX design practices to deliver compelling messaging on the website.
- Collaborates closely with EIT to manage website tools, design and content, resolve technical issues, and ensure seamless integration of marketing strategies across digital platforms.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, be collaborative, and have a strong client-service background and orientation.

- Event marketing, promotional marketing, graphics design and production experience.
