Position Summary

Product Development interns will assist with managing the entire life cycle of a product. They assist with developing new products based on industry trends, statistical analysis, market research, and relationships with customers and vendors. The intern will gain a unique blend of business and technical knowledge.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing and coordinating marketing campaign(s) to achieve targets and implement a go-to-market plan;
  • Assist with managing the procurement process, managing the program budget, and validating billing from vendors;
  • Provide monthly reports on financial status and program performance;
  • Track vendor performance, ensure goals are met, and provide reporting as required to various areas of the company;
  • Generate new product ideas by attending webinars, meeting with customers, interacting with vendors and technology providers;
  • Assist with piloting new products and drive implementation across internal teams through requirements gathering, procurement and contracting, positioning, pricing, and sales campaign planning.
  • May assist with forecasting, program evaluation, and process improvements

Minimum Skills

Personal Computer Usage

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and concepts to those with less technical background

Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0

Must be able to participate in full-time employment with CPS Energy for duration of summer.

Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization and serve as a liaison for craft and management personnel

Ability to handle complex assignments, be a self-starter, be able to meet goals and deadlines on own initiative with minimum supervision

Ability to distinguish colors to determine severity of equipment conditions or changes in operating processes

Knowledgeable and supportive of all safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures

Ability to work safely at heights, in confined spaces, around electrical facilities, in extreme temperature ranges, and in adverse temperature conditions

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects, and to use technical skills to focus ideas onto small scale projects

Effective problem solving and decision making skills to make clear and precise decisions

Basic skills in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, internet, electronic mail and scheduling.

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Windows environment

Minimum Education

Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration or related field from an accredited institution

Required Certifications

Working Environment

Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Ability to travel between business related events. Work hours may be extended.
